The vision of the JFCA Athletics Department is to develop leaders for Christ through excellence in sports.

Founded in 2011, Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Athletics provide students an opportunity for competitive interscholastic sports. At JFCA, more than 250 student-athletes play for more than 30 teams across 13 sports.

Join Us

We encourage all JFCA students to participate in our sports program. Several sports require tryouts to create and fill their rosters, while others allow all willing participants to compete. To provide every student the opportunity to participate in competitive athletics, we have, typically, one sport per season that does not require a tryout.

Steps to Play

Athlete Eligibility

We are committed to the highest standards of education and athletics. Participation in athletics at JFCA is an honor and a privilege based on several requirements of student-athletes in their academics, conduct, and grade level. JFCA athletics are currently open to fifth through 12th-grade students.

Athletics Handbook

The Parent/Student Athletics Handbook provides information about grade-specific opportunities, costs, and other details. It also informs athletes and their parents of their responsibilities and rights as participants in the Johnson Ferry Christian Academy athletics program. We expect all parents and athletes to read and understand their rights and responsibilities before participating in our program.

Physical Forms

All JFCA students who wish to participate in Saints sports must be cleared by a medical professional before participating. We do not allow students to try out, practice, or compete for a team until we have a completed and signed preparticipation evaluation physical forms packet on file with the school office.

Evaluations completed on or after April 1 prior to the following school year are valid for participation for a full school year.

Please turn in completed forms to the school office, or email them to Tyler Summey.

Sports registration opens and closes throughout the year. Registration is done through our sports scheduling and team communication app, TeamSnap. A parent/student must complete the registration form on TeamSnap before a student can participate in official practices or games.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have a unique sports program that can bring about many questions. Please take a look at these frequently asked questions as a starting point for exploring our athletic offerings.

What sports are available at JFCA?

The Saints compete in 13 varsity sports. Each sport may have a varying number of teams with options for a middle school or JV team. Please see Fall Sports, Winter Sports, and Spring Sports pages to discover what sports are currently available at JFCA.

Is JFCA affiliated with a specific association for sports?

The Saints compete in the GAPPS (Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools). The GAPPS was created in 2013 with JFCA as a founding member. The GAPPS offers competition across the state for our middle school and high school athletes. For more information please visit the GAPPS website.

Where can I keep up with Saints Athletics?
I am interested in playing my sport in college. Where do I start?

Please see the NCAA Eligibility Center for a wealth of information for future athletes. NAIA, NJCAA, and NCCAA are also competitive options worth exploring. Please be sure to discuss your intentions with your school counselor and our director of athletics, Tyler Summey, to further assist in the process.

When and where do teams practice?

JFCA does not have a set practice schedule for any sport or team. Schedules are set each season based on the availability of facilities and coaches and on avoiding conflict with other school activities. While we try to maintain a reasonably standard schedule throughout and across seasons, practice schedules are subject to change at any point. Please reach out to a team’s coach for more info.

If JFCA does not have access to their own facilities, where do they practice and play?

The short answer is that we rent 15+ facilities in the local area. We prioritize securing proper facility space for all of our teams to prepare and compete properly. Families who are accustomed to a travel ball or club schedule will have little issue transitioning to our schedules. Families who come from recreational programs with practices and games will benefit from embracing the logistics involved in off-site facilities.
